Terms of Service

Home

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Astropulse LLC ("Astropulse," "we," "us," or "our"), a New Hampshire limited liability company, governing your use of the Semantic Interlinear Bible — the website at silbible.com, its mobile application, and related services (together, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Acceptance and changes

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. We may update these Terms from time to time; when we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide a more prominent notice where appropriate. Your continued use of the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.

2. The Service

The Semantic Interlinear Bible is a free Bible-study tool built on the Berean Standard Bible together with original-language data, lexicons, and reference sources. It offers expanded readings, word-by-word study, cross-references, maps, a study chat, audio readings, and related features, many of which are generated with the help of artificial intelligence and saved for everyone. The core Service is free to use, and the material it generates can be downloaded and kept offline. We may add, change, or discontinue features at any time.

3. Eligibility and accounts

You may use the Service without an account. You may also create a free account to sync your highlights, notes, and chats across devices, and an account is required to hold a supporter subscription. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. You are responsible for providing accurate information, for keeping your password confidential, and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly at support@silbible.com if you believe your account has been used without your permission.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

We may limit, suspend, or terminate access that we reasonably believe violates these Terms.

5. Your content and display names

"Your Content" means the highlights, notes, drawings, saved items, chat messages, and similar material you create in the Service. As between you and us, you retain your rights in Your Content. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process, and transmit Your Content solely to operate and provide the Service to you (for example, to sync it across your devices and, for chat, to generate a response). You are responsible for Your Content and for having the right to submit it.

If you choose a public display name for the Supporters list, you must not use a name that is offensive, misleading, infringing, or that impersonates another person or organization. We may remove or decline to display any name at our discretion. Providing a name is optional, and you can change or remove it at any time.

6. Donations

Donations are entirely optional and support the continued operation of the Service. A donation does not unlock any feature — the Service is already free. As a thank-you, you may have the name you choose added to the public Supporters list. The minimum donation is $1. Donations are final and non-refundable.

7. Supporter subscriptions and billing

A supporter subscription is an optional, recurring payment that helps keep the Service free for everyone and, as a thank-you, unlocks convenience features such as additional reading voices, original-language audio readings, a higher study-chat allowance, and an optional Supporters listing. Nothing in the paid tier is more accurate, more complete, or more insightful than the free Service — the substantive study content is the same for everyone.

8. Third-party services

The Service relies on third parties, including Stripe (payments), our AI model provider (study chat), infrastructure and delivery providers, and, where you obtain the app or a subscription through them, the Apple App Store and Google Play. Your use of those services is subject to their own terms and policies, and we are not responsible for them. Where you purchase a subscription through an app store, that store's billing, renewal, and refund rules also apply.

9. Intellectual property

The Berean Standard Bible text is in the public domain. Certain lexical, geographic, and reference data are used under their respective open licenses, as credited on the Service. The Service's generated readings, notes, summaries, software, design, and compilation are owned by Astropulse or its licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your own study, including downloading generated material for personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, redistribute at scale, or create a competing service from the Service's software or generated database except as permitted by the applicable open licenses or by us in writing. These Terms do not transfer any of our rights to you.

10. Disclaimers

The expanded readings, summaries, word studies, and study-chat answers are produced in part by artificial intelligence and other automated processes. They are provided as a study aid and may be incomplete or inaccurate. They are not Scripture and are not a substitute for the biblical text itself, and nothing in the Service is theological, legal, financial, medical, or other professional advice. Always weigh the Service's output against Scripture and sound judgment.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE, OR THAT ANY CONTENT IS ACCURATE OR RELIABLE. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so some of the above may not apply to you.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ASTROPULSE AND ITS OWNERS, MEMBERS, AND SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (a) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (b) TWENTY U.S. DOLLARS ($20). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Astropulse and its owners, members, and suppliers from any claims, damages, liabilities, and reasonable expenses (including legal fees) arising out of your misuse of the Service, Your Content, or your violation of these Terms or of any law or the rights of another.

13. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time, and you may delete your account by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or to protect the Service or its users. If your account is terminated, any active subscription will be handled as described in Section 7. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law — will survive.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Hampshire, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You agree that the state and federal courts located in New Hampshire will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service, and you consent to their jurisdiction and venue, except where applicable law grants you the right to bring a claim elsewhere. If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force.
